LOWELL S. FRIEDMAN

Michigan Criminal Lawyer

A graduate of Michigan State University and the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, and a member of the Oakland County Bar Association and the State Bar of Michigan, Lowell Friedman is the founder and managing member of the Friedman Law Firm, PLLC. Lowell’s long-term practice focuses exclusively on Family Law and Criminal Defense.

A proficient Michigan trial lawyer, Lowell frequently appears in court to handle motions, hearings and trials throughout the State of Michigan, from everywhere in the metropolitan Detroit area to the western and northern parts of the state.

Due to his success, Lowell has received the distinguished Super Lawyers award, which is based on an independent rating of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The selection process includes independent research, peer nominations and peer evaluations. Only 5 percent or fewer of the lawyers in any state are named as Super Lawyers.

Lowell is actively involved in the community. He recently completed his term on the Board of Directors of Hillel Day School and participates in several civic organizations in the Royal Oak and Berkley area.

Lowell is happily married to his wife Jennifer, a Ph.D. in psychology who has worked for many years with young people and families to assure they are learning and thriving at the highest levels. Lowell and Jennifer enjoy spending time with their two children, Max and Jacob.

 

JAMES D. MORIARTY

James D. Moriarty is a proud graduate of Michigan State University and the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. Before beginning his practice of law,
James served as a law clerk to the Honorable John C. Foster of the Macomb County Circuit Court. He also served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Leo Bowman of the Oakland County Circuit Court. James co-authored the article Equal Is Not Necessarily Equitable When Distributing Marital Property, published in the July 2010 Michigan Bar Journal.

James primarily concentrates his practice in the areas of Family Law and Criminal Law.
His experience includes conducting trials or hearings in the circuit courts for Oakland, Wayne, Macomb, Washtenaw, Genesee, Livingston, Lapeer and Lenawee counties.

 

RENE A. GRANT

Rene Grant is a Legal Assistant with Friedman Law Firm PLLC. She provides a wide range of family law and criminal defense support for the firm’s clients and attorneys and helps keep the office running smoothly. Rene is often the first point of contact with the firm and she takes that role very seriously, always doing whatever she can to assist our clients.

Rene’s venture into the legal field began in Intellectual Property Law in 1985. She has also worked in the Personal Injury field. With an A.S. in Business Law from Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, California, Rene is an active member of the Paralegal Society. Each day, she is motivated to help people and experience new and interesting challenges. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors with family and friends.
